Muslims of Ukraine are Active Part of European Ummah

In the conversation with the Mufti of the SMMU "Ummah" Said Ismagilov and its chairman Igor Karpishen, Shakib Benmahluf emphasized that Ukraine is European country, and Muslims of Ukraine constitute a part of Muslim European community. Thus, the head of the FIOE positively estimated activity of Islamic religious revival and high level of social work of Muslims of Ukraine.

In their answer the leaders of the SMMU "Ummah" expressed their wish of active cooperation with the Federation of Islamic Organizations and highly appreciated the role and the value of recently accepted Charter of Muslims of Europe. The given Charter of Muslims for today is the major document promoting adjustment of healthy good-neighborhood relations with European multi-confessional community.

Sheikh Shakib Benmahluf was one of founders of the European Council on Fatwa and Research, and in 2006 he was elected as a president of the Federation of Islamic Organizations of Europe. The FIOE is the greatest Muslim structure in Europe. It unites Muslims of different nationalities in 28 European countries.
