This year, The Youth International School For Islamic Studies will be held in a completely fantastic place — at the Ostroh Academy. The impressive pictures of its historic building have recently flooded the social networks.

The discussion will focus on live issues about the standing of Islam and Muslims in Ukraine and in the areas (Europe and the Middle East), where during the last year the most resonant and significant events have taken place, affecting the Muslim world too. The participants will discuss the following issues: the history of Islam in Ukraine, the Islamophobia, the problem of refugees from Muslim countries, the problems of extremism and conflicts, "the migrant crisis" in Europe, as well as the issues of inter-religious dialogue and successful collaboration between Muslims themselves and with other religious organizations.

In addition to lectures, presentations and discussions, the program includes meetings with the theologians and the representatives of Islamic Religious and Social Organisations, the intellectual games on Islamic topics and excursions.
The school will be held from 10 to 15 July at the following address: Seminarska, 2 str., National University of "Ostroh Academy". In order to participate, you need to send an application form before June 30, 2016, which will include the following information: name, surname, patronymic; educational institution or place of work; course (year of study); the subject of the lecture (if the participant wants to publish an article, and makes a presentation); contact information — e-mail, telephone, mail address. As the seats are limited, the facilitators reserve the right of hold a competitive selection of people willing to participate in the School of Islamic Studies. The preference will be given to the participants performing the presentations on the subject of the event.

The digest of the participants’ articles “Al-Qalam #6” will be published after the School is over.

Typescript’s requirements of the articles:

The text size is limited to 20,000 characters (including spaces, author’s data, title  of the article and list of references); font Times New Roman, font size 14 spacing 1.5.. The references are given in brackets, indicating the page after comma (eg. [4, p. 5]). The list of references is indicated at the end of article in alphabetical order. The article should contain the annotations in English and Ukrainian (Russian) languages. The deadline for submission of articles for the publication is — June 30, 2016.

The aim of the Summer School is consolidation of the Islamic studies of our country, as well as helping young scientists to achieve the deep system of knowledge about Islam and Islamic studies, Islamic theology and philosophy, modern state of Islam in Ukraine and in the world.
