Starting from January 2015, Crimea residents, who suffered political repressions will be allocated 500 rubles ($ 8), in the frameworks of the law “on rehabilitation of victims of political repressions”, State Committee on Interethnic Affairs and Deported Citizens said in a statement.

“According to article 16 of the law “on rehabilitation of victims of political repressions, those who suffered from political repressions are provided with the measures of social security, according to the legislation of Russian Federation”- reads the statement of the committee.

Those who have a certificate, proving they are rehabilitated, will receive 500 rubles ($8) per month. Among the “privileges” there is also a 50% discount for public utilities payments and a discount tickets for public transport.

Meanwhile inflation in Crimea, which seceded from Ukraine and unified with Russia in March reached 42.5 percent last year, according to Crimean State Statistics Service.

The huge rise in inflation under Moscow rule compares to deflation of 0.5 percent in Crimea in 2013, according to the Crimean State Statistics Service.

Food prices in Crimea have raised 52.9 percent over the course of the year. The cost of services in Crimea has climbed 27 percent through 2014, according to official data.
