A round-up of visitors of one of Moscow restaurants where Muslim came for iftar after the evening prayer was made by Russian law-enforcement officers.

One of the social media published photographs and a video recording made three hours after the people who came to break their fast were detained before even trying their food. The people were thrown on the floor, intimidated, arrested, delivered to the police station, and after that they weren’t left alone even to perform their prayer; their prayer rugs were beetled, — comments to the photos and video say.

The incident took place at the “Vesyoli Babay” restaurant. Praying people were knocked down, their prayer rugs beetled, — the user wrote.

It is reported that all 50 men were taken to the police station and set free only at 7am, as “there was nothing to incriminate to them. People stayed hungry all night and started another day of fasting having nothing in their stomachs”.

The user states that detained men were a lawyer, a permanent delegation officer, a teacher, sportsmen and students. Besides, their personal belongings were examined and exempt with violation of the procedures; in particular, there were no coroner’s jury around. Everybody was forcefully fingerprinted under the threat of prolonging their detention.

The author of the posts quotes one of the policemen who said that all was done due to the direct reference of Head of the Moscow police:
— Guys from Petrovka police department bossed the show. According to the officers, they acted due to direct reference of Mr.Yakunin, Head of the Moscow Police. That information is depicted in the complaints filed by the affected persons to respectful authorities.

The mass media and public, at the same time, dissemble that fact of discriminatory attitude towards Muslims and their religious needs.
