Mr.Edgar Devlikamov, an Imam of a Dnipropetrovsk muslim community, joined his adherents from Zaporizhzhya and took part in a training session “Support For Volunteering Organisations Dealing With Internally Displaced Persons And The ATO Fighters”. This course was initiated by graduates of the “Open World” programme who finished their internship in the USA, in order to methodize the efforts of social and religious organisations in that sphere, and create a platform where they could coordinate their activities and exchange experience and contacts.

Matters of psychological aid for the IDPs and fighters, protecting rights of those people were raised during the session, as well as the basic media skills (which is extremely important in the era when some users in the social media can have more subscribers that the official, registered media).

Mr.Devlikamov thanked the facilitators and said that such trainings were very important for the Muslims: “In these extreme conditions our Homeland ib being through, where our compatriots suffer and lose their lives, it’s time to make supreme efforts of enacting the words spoken from minbars of our mosques, show our eagerness to act, to show the true teaching of Islam not by our words, but by our deeds. Such express-courses help achieving maximum effect from the efforts we make, prevent us from wasting our time and efforts, and give us an opportunity to meet like-minded people, with whom even the most overwhelming projects can be set in motion.”

The event was held within the framework of Kyiv Alumni Resource Center (ARC) for the graduates of American Councils for International Education exchange programmes, under the auspices of US Embassy, Dnipropetrovsk Region State Administration, and the Department of Ministration of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Kyiv Patriarchate) “Elios-Mercy”.
