“Qara-göz” Mosque (Izyumovka village, Kirovski District, Crimea) was burgled on the night of February  9 - 10. According to RAMC, the scenario was exactly the same as in Strogonovka, Simferopol district: the plotter got inside, broke the door open, forced the charity donations box open and took all the money.

Mr.Nariman Koroglu, main Imam of the Kirov district, said that the mosque didn’t have neither video cameras nor guards; there’s no permanent Imam either, so the building is open mostly on Fridays. On other days it is opened by the local Muslims as needed. There were more than RUR 5 000 in the donations box.

According to the Imam, local Muslims are aware where the key lies, and the plotter never touched the key, but instead he broke the door open and went to get the money.

“We can see it on the tracks that the plotter went directly to the box, and didn’t go anywhere else in the mosque. Local people found this out when they came for a joint prayer in the evening. The neighbours said they hadn’t seen anyone walking in or out, perhaps it happened during the night,” - a mosque official said.

In the evening of February 10 local police arrived, collected fingerprints and interviewed the local people and drew up a protocol.

It bears reminding that donated money was stolen from Oktyabr’skoe town mosque (Krasnogvardeiski district) on the evening of February 9; similar accident happened on the same night in Strogonovka, Simferopol district.
