On April 7, more than two hundred participants of the International Women's Forum, initiated by the Ukrainian Muslimahs League and Women’s Social Organisation “Maryam”, gathered in the column hall of the Kyiv Regional State Administration to discuss topical issues and problems that women face while performing their public and professional activities.

This event did not remain outside the circle of the mass media interests. The TV channel UA.TV began the material on the Forum with the mention of Kateryna Evdokimova, the first Muslim fashion designer in Ukraine, whose clothing is known under the Katrin Kym brand: “Kateryna Evdokimova is the first designer of Islamic clothing in Ukraine. She has been wearing Ukrainian Muslim women almost two decades”, — says the journalist behind the scenes. —"Her looks correspond to all traditions, but at the same time they are stylish and modern."

— My point of view is: an intelligent man is just a one intelligent man”, — says Ekaterina Evdokimova. — But one intelligent woman means an intelligent family. Because she graduated from the university, she can do a lot of things in life and, of course, she will cultivate that in her children.

Other participants of the International Forum, public activists, teachers, psychologists, doctors, journalists, cosmeticians, sportswomen, also share their success stories. Among them is Olga Fryndak, one of the Forum organizers, the chief editor of  “Alraid” Information Department:

— Among the twenty main speakers are representatives of different nationalities: Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars, guests from Turkey, Kuwait, Moldova, — says Olga Fryndak.

Sinan al-Ahmad’s presence at the event avouches Olga’s words. She is a public activist who came to Ukraine from Kuwait. While giving the interview to the TV channel, she expressed her confidence that if women didn’t develop, society wouldn’t develop either:

— The women role is not associated only with family. Society cannot be changed for the better only due to one voice – man’s voice. The presence of the second voice – woman’s voice — is important for the information delivery, — says the activist.

— Unfortunately, this exciting tendency is not good, that in some Muslim countries women do not have equal rights and opportunities as men. This is not common to Islam and does not conform to the Quran. And we are absolutely sure that through the example of Ukraine we should level this imbalance. A woman should occupy her rightful place, take an active part in public, political, religious life, in any field of activity, — particularly said Sheikh Said Ismagilov, RAMU "Ummah" Mufti, in the interview on UA.TV.

The news story says that besides experience exchange and communication, the Muslim women managed to make a charity contribution – they launched handicraft fair—exhibition selling toys, paintings, sweets and accessories and donated the proceeds to orphaned children.
