In Ukraine officially started the activity of new Spiritual Management of Muslims of Ukraine named "Ummah".

As it is stated in the press-release of the management, this voluntary association of religious communities of Muslims of Ukraine which is created with the purpose of coordination of actions for maintenance of necessary conditions for practicing and distributions of Islamic Sunni doctrine.

According to the charter of new religious structure, structure of "Ummah" included Muslim religious communities of different regional centers of our state. Activity of the Spiritual Management is distributed to all the territory of Ukraine.

Among the numerous tasks specified in the charter of the SMMU "Ummah", there are giving spiritual and material help to Muslim communities and separate citizens; creation of spiritual educational institutions and other forms of teaching Islam, and also performance of different spiritual needs according to the Shariat.

Activity of the SMMU "Ummah" is registered by the State Committee of Ukraine on affairs of nationalities and religions by the order № 79 from September, 11, 2008.

In the near future is planned the opening of an official site of religious structure by the web-address http://www.umma.in.ua/.

According to the information of Islam in Ukraine, the SMMU "Ummah" became already fifth centralized Muslim structure in Ukraine alongside with Kiev Muftiyat, the Spiritual Management of Muslims of Crimea, the Spiritual Management of Muslims of Ukraine of Ahmad Tamim and the Spiritual Center of Muslims of Ukraine.
