Kyivs’ residents supported picket of Crimean Tatars
Kyiv’s NGO «Social court of Ukraine» has expressed support to the Crimean Tatar participants of the protest, which has held already 35 days near the Cabinet Ministers of Ukraine.
As the QHA was reported by deputy head of NGO Avdet Nariman Potel during the past two days people chanted “People’s land - back to the people!” demanded a meeting with the Prime Minister.
In spite of this, according to Potel, the Ukrainian authorities continue ignoring demands of protesters. «Officials were not even confuse long hunger strike declared by the participants of the action», - troubled N. Potel.
Deputy head of the NGO also noted that the picketers are determined to seek the Cabinet Ministers of the comprehensive decision of land problems in Crimea and at the present there is an active discussions to future joint activities with the Crimean Tatar diasporas and appeal is preparing to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Organization for Migration and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
The appeal will be considered a violation of the Framework Convention on National Minorities, a proposal to recognize an act of genocide the deportation of Crimean Tatar people in May 1944, as well as a number of facts supporting the view of participants in the protest to continue the genoide of Crimean Tatars by the government in Ukraine.
It will be recalled that from May 27 the Cabinet Ministers of Ukraine has ceased all communication with the picketers but Ukrainian officials have put the demand to stop the action, declared that the positive solution of the land under the pressure of participants in picket will be precedent of all Ukraine. Perturbed demonstrative disregard of the authorities to their question Crimean Tatars announced hunger strike, which continues to this day and with participation of 8 members.
