Schools on studying of the Arabic language get the increasing popularity among the Ukrainian intellectuals, helping them to get acquainted with Islam and Islamic civilization.

Arabic, the language of the Quran, for many people became the "window" into Islam", the employee of the All-Ukraine Association of Social Organizations "Аlraid" and the inspector of schools of the Arabic language, doctor Shadi Otman, says.

As he said, such schools help many Ukrainians to understand Muslim faith better.

"Schools became for us one of ways of preaching of tolerance of Islam and demonstration of its true values", he said.

For three years on the territory of Ukraine function 45 free schools in which are taught the Arabic language, oriental culture and Islamic sciences.

The majority of students of such schools are university students and teachers who visit the lessons one time in a week.

"Many come to us to learn the Arabian culture and, thus, to have possibility of dialogue with the Arabian students of the Ukrainian universities, - doctor Shadi Otman says. - Others wish to learn more about Islam".

In Ukraine live about two million Muslims, who make about 4 % of the population of the country. Here there are up to 200 mosques and 20 Islamic centers.

Many Ukrainians, entering the Arabic schools, change their opinion about Islam.

"By means of local and international mass-media I had negative opinion about Islam, - Irina Sladkih, university student, says. - But when I started to visit the school, everything has changed".

Physician Igor Vlasov asserts that thanks to school he could understand the Arabian world better. "It seems to me that now I know much about Islam and Muslims", he says.

Thanks to schools Ukrainians began to understand religion of Muslims better.

"Having come to school, I opened for myself new face of Islam, - the university teacher Julia Bondiniya says. - Therefore I invited here two colleagues".

The student of the third year of medical faculty Victoria came to school to know the Arabian culture better.

"Now I feel that the school became an integral part of my life", the girl says.
