Decision of Issue of Cathedral Mosque Building – Main Point in Policy Concerning Crimean Tatars
The decision of the problem of building of the Cathedral mosque is the main condition for the successful policy of the new power in the relation to the Crimean Tatars. About it at the press conference in Simferopol was declared on March, 19th, by the Crimean political scientist Alexander Formanchuk.
"I consider, the only thing that is necessary to do to make the Tatars go easily in a waterway of today's policy, is to solve the problem of the Cathedral mosque", Formanchuk stated.
In his opinion, the Crimean Tatars will not only keep the positions in the power of the autonomy, but also will achieve the decision of the issue concerning the building of Dzhuma-Dzhami.
Let us remind that the chairman of the fraction "Kurultay-Ruh", Remzi Ilyasov, called the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych to promote in the Supreme Council of Crimea the decision of this issue. In the open letter to the President, Ilyasov named delaying of the building of the mosque as an example of "discrimination by the Ukrainian state of the Crimean-Tatar people to religious sign".
In January of this year, during the meeting with the management of Medzhlis concerning the mosque building, the Ukrainian authorities including Victor Yanukovych, the leader of the Party of Regions, recognized indecision of the given issue as erroneous. However, at the meeting it was noticed that the authorities consider it necessary to wait acceptance of the decision on this issue by the court and do not intend to contend it.
