International Scientific Conference dedicated to Ukrainian Oriental Studies took Place
On December, 27th, in the "Great hall" of Houses of scientists of the NAS of Ukraine took place the International scientific conference on the topic "Ukrainian oriental studies: problems of methodology, source, research, inter-civilization dialogue". On behalf of the Ukrainian Muslims in the conference participated Imam and Khatyb of the Islamic Social Cultural Centre of Kiev, the expert on theological issues, Sheikh Imad Abu Ar-Rubb.
The Institute of Ukrainian Archeology and source study of M.S.Grushevsky at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine became the organizer of the international event.
Conference work was devoted to discussion of problems of methodology of researches in the field of Oriental studies, and Turkic studies in particular, in the context of inter-civilization dialogue.
Among the high-ranking visitors there were plenipotentiary ambassadors of Syria, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, the ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (1994-1998) Gennady Iosifovich Udovenko, doctors and professors of philological, historical sciences, and also famous Ukrainian orientalists.
Sheikh Imad Abu Ar-Rubb spoke with a congratulatory word on behalf of the all-Ukraine Association of Social Organizations "Аlraid".
Among numerous themes of scientific reports it is necessary to note work of the candidate of philology, the honorable doctor of Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Jury Nikolaevich Kochubey, "Oriental studies as the integral component of socio-cultural researches in a context of inter-civilization dialogue", the report of the editor-in-chief of television channel "First National" Christina Lubomirovna Stebelska, "First National: the European Ukraine in the Oriental dialogue" and many others.
Within the limits of the conference took place the book presentation "Turkic sources of the history of Ukraine" on the occasion of the 50 anniversary of its author - F.G.Turanly.
