Public iftar held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Islamic Cultural Centre (ICC) of Simferopol gathered 500 people. Such events will be held at the “Alraid” Crimean ICC on Tuesdays during the whole month of Ramadan on a regular basis.

Before it was time to break the fast and do the evening prayer Resim Dervishev gave his lecture on merits of fasting and it’s positive impact on physical and spiritual health of the one fasting.

The atmosphere in the Centre was rather homy and cosy; the whole families came to join the public iftaar together. The believers performed evening and night prayers together along with the supplementary prayer Taraweeh. After the evening prayer Maghrib everybody had a full and tasty meal and enjoyed the communication with people around. They greeted their friends and made some new ones.

Joint iftars are held in the ICCs in different Ukrainian cities during Ramadan. Every community makes decision in their own how often they can handle events like these, regarding their conditions and possibilities.

Kyiv ICC, in particular, opens its doors for public iftars every Friday.
