A traditional Mega March In Vyshyvankas (“vyshyvanka” — traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirt) was held in the capital’s downtown, having united both Ukrainians of different ethnic background and representatives of Ukrainian expat communities from abroad.

Ukrainian Muslim girls and women of different ethnic background participated in the event as well, having caused a vivid interest in the crowd. Passers by were intrigued and asked a lot of questions of the Muslimahs’ roots, occupations and plans for the future, and thanked them for supporting the initiative. “How often do you wear a vyshyvanka?” was another popular question.

People posted their pictures to the social media that evening, having caused a barrage of “likes” and “reposts”.

It bears reminding that participants of the March gathered on the Square near the Golden Gates (Ukr. “Zoloti Vorota”) to then make a file and march towards the Arc of National Cohesion. They marched along Volodymyrs’ka Street to Sofiys’ka Square, then along Volodymyrskyi passage to Mykhailivs’ka Square, then down the Tryokhcvyatytel’ska Street towards Eurepean Square, and than climbed the hill of Khrashchatyi park towards the Arc.
