Turkey and Ukraine made mutual decision to cancel visa regime between the two countries within the limits of a bilateral course on increase of volumes of trade and development of tourist branch.
On Thursday the Prime Minister of Turkey, Rejep Tayip Erdogan, at a joint press conference with the Ukrainian President informed that both countries cancelled visa requirements for the citizens of both countries.
Victor Yanukovych was in Turkey with one-day visit during which time were discussed possibilities of deepening of partnership of two countries at strategic level.
The leaders carried out bilateral negotiations and visited the session of the Turkish-Ukrainian Council of strategic cooperation on the top-level, which Erdogan named as important institutional mechanism of improvement of mutual relations with the neighbors of Turkey.
As he said, Turkey and Ukraine agreed about cooperation expansion in transport, power and defensive branches. He declared that communications between the two countries will become stronger henceforth thanks to intensive political dialogue.
Turkey and Ukraine also made an agreement on free trade. By 2015 they plan to increase the volume of trade to 20 billion dollars, and to 2020 – to 40 billion dollars.
Let us remind that on January, 25th, 2011, the President of Ukraine, Victor Yanukovych, solemnly received the Prime-Minister of Turkey, Rejep Tayip Erdogan, in Kiev. Then the visit of the head of the Turkish government was directed on activation of relations in trade and economic and investment spheres.
