Russian Mufti Ravil Gainutdin To Crimean Tatars: “We Are Not Only Brothers In Faith, We Are Blood Brothers”

A delegation of religious figures headed by Mr. Ravil Gainutdin (Mufti of Religious Administration of Muslims of the European Russia) arrived to Simferopol on March 27 Deputy-Mufti Mr. Damir Muhametdinov and famous Islamic preacher Mr. Shamil Alyautdinov were also present.

It was the first visit to Crimea for Mr. Gainutdin. “We are not only brothers in faith, we are blood brothers. Because of this, I can definitely say that this visit is very useful both for me and other Russian Muslims. I think we can talk to the Administration of Crimean Tatar Mejlis in order to learn and have a better insight of their aspirations, fears and hopes.”


Mr. Vyacheslav Svetlichniy, Russian Consul General in Crimea, was also present at the meeting. he stressed that in was very important for Crimea to hear ex cathedral voices of the Russian Muslims’ delegation in order to give peace, content and mutual understanding both within the Crimean Muslim community and interfaith cooperation.


He referred to the latest events on the peninsula as the playing geopolitical cards and struggle for more influence on the international scene. He asked the Crimean Muslims to think their future actions carefully in order to maintain their safety and unity and keep the positions important for the Crimean tatars.


Delegation from Moscow stayed in Crimea for two days. Having met the Crimean Mufti and members of the Mejlis, Ravil Gainutdin appointed the peninsula’s clubbish set, public figures, scientists and educators in order to discuss matters of their concern.
