First Crimean Tatar Movie Is To be Presented In Turkey At A Movie Festival Of International Standard

First Crimean Tatar feature movie “Haytarma” depicting the Crimean Tatars deportation in 1944 is to be presented at a “Golden Orange” Annual Movie festival held in Turkey since 1963.

The “Haytarma” movie has been presented in many towns and cities of Crimea earlier this year and smashed the mass visiting records. It was demonstrated in Kyiv on June 8 and 9, both times the spectators rose in applause. They had to prolong the presentation for several times in Simferopol as there were much more visitors willing to see the movie than expected.


The movie caused similar reaction in Germany, where it was shown in the Embassy of Ukraine on September 26. The show was initiated by the Ukrainian cinema Club in Berlin and Institute for Caucasica-, Tatarica- and Turkestan Studies, supported by the Embassy of Ukraine. according to the movie show facilitators, the audience were crying after having watched the film.


Besides, the Movie is to be shown in Uzbekistan at the Tashkent International Movie Forum “Golden Cheetah” in mid-October, and at the Polish movie festival CAMERIMAGE in November.
