Unresolving by the local authorities the issue of the construction of the Cathedral Mosque in Simferopol for a long time is wrong. On this informed QHA the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Ukraine Talat Museib oglu Aliyev.

"I think that it is a wrong step of the local authorities. The more denominations there will be in Crimea, the easier is to build a democratic society", the Ambassador said. In his opinion, the Cathedral Mosque should be built and the Crimean Tatars, the Azeris, the Kazakhs, the Uzbeks and other Islamic nations should have their own House of God - their mosque".

He also added that to resolve the situation around the construction of the Cathedral Mosque "it is not necessarily to hold a referendum; it just requires that the city authorities made the right decision, considering the needs of enrichment Muslims of Crimea and, in particular, Simferopol. The healthier is the society, the fewer are different violations of the laws and public order".

"In the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, live 300 Catholics, and in spite of it, there was built a Catholic Church. In the opening of this church participated senior ranks of the Vatican. It is not bad at all", Talat Aliyev said.

According to him, the people who profess Islam can not be regarded as sparse. "After all, it has no value; each denomination must have the house of God".

The Ambassador claims that mosques never violated the environment around them, "it is not a factory, not an enterprise, which can pollute the environment. City authorities must understand that if Muslims live in the city, the construction of mosques is a must. They should do everything possible that people would have the opportunity to pray".

Aliyev informed that in the next month he is going to visit the Crimea and to meet the authorities of the city of Simferopol.

"I will try to explain my vision and attitudes to contribute somehow in solving of this issue", he said.

"The city authorities must understand that the more there are churches, mosques and synagogues, the better for the society, the city and the region. Their construction and operation should be considered equally and they should be set in the same conditions. This good deed should always be supported. In this issue there should be no policy, but the interests of the society should be taken into account", summed up the Ambassador of Azerbaijan.

We shall recall that on the 8th of December took place a meeting of the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the MP Mustafa Dzhemilev with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Ukraine Talat Aliyev.

In the meeting at the request of the Azerbaijani Ambassador, Mustafa Dzhemilev explained the situation on the allocation of land on Yaltinskaya street, 22, for the construction of the Cathedral Mosque. Talat Aliyev expressed readiness to assist in resolving of the issue of the construction of the Cathedral Mosque, and after taking all necessary decisions on the allocation of the land in its building, too.
