The Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people approved resolution of the Qurultay of Crimean Tatar “Of the tasks of the national self-government bodies for the spiritual unity of the Crimean Tatar people” on 16 January.
The Qurultay charges the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people with the Religious Administration of Muslims of Crimea (RAMC) to develop and realize the complex of measures aimed to the spiritual and organizational unity guarding of the Muslims of Crimea, making of united system of the Islamic educational institutions and preparation for the imams of mosques. Particularly, it is proposed in the resolution to provide opening of the Crimean Islam University, to start the construction of the Djuma-Djami mosque (the Central mosque) in Aqmescit (Simferopol).
Moreover, the Qurultay charges local majlises to promote the construction of Djuma-Djami mosques and madrasah (higher religious schools) in each of the raions and towns in Crimea and with concession of a status of the main Islamic centers in appropriate raion, town, complex work holding on the identification, inventory manual, renewal and restoration of the objects of materials and spiritual heritage of the Crimean Tatar people.
It should be mentioned the V Qurultay’s II Session was held on 5-6 December 2009 and it was decided to charge the Majlis to work the resolution of spiritual unity out, and to approve it on behalf of the Qurultay.
