The head of the State committee on affairs of nationalities and religions Yury Reshetnikov greeted the Ukrainian Muslims with birthday of the Prophet Muhammad - a holiday of Maulid.
"Nowadays special value gets comprehension of unity of the Ukrainian nation, establishing of tolerance and mutual respect of inter-confessional and international relations. The state highly appreciates the contribution of Muslims of Ukraine to strengthening of spiritual and moral bases of the society, welcomes noble work of domestic Muslim community in spiritual and social sphere, the initiatives directed on deepening of mutual understanding between the people and religious organizations", is stated in the greeting of Yu.Reshetnikov which was announced on February, 26th, by the press-service of the State committee on affairs of nationalities and religions.
Let us notice that celebrating of the birthday of the Prophet is not a Shariat establishment. However it is included into a number of allowed duties (mubahat) provided that celebrating will not be considered Sunnah and it will not be beyond the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as it often happens to many celebrations.
The sense of the celebrating devoted to the birthday of the Prophet, consists in reminder on worthy qualities of the Messenger and his great mission for the blessing of the whole mankind.
