Eastern Partnership Countries Summit is to take place in Vilnius, where Ukraine plans signing Political Association Agreement with the EU and creating free trade area. President Viktor Yanukovych says that the Ukrainian Parliament is working hard to fulfill all the necessary requirements and criteria. However, the so-called “Islamic threat”-related issues in Crimea do not co-rely with Ukraine’s plans for Euro-integration.

According to Dr.Vyacheslav Shved, the Vice-President of the “Ukrainian Centre For Islamic Studies” NGO, the noise in the media is nothing else but “massive ideological propaganda against Ukraine which became more active lately.”

The specialist considers that the recent TV-news digest have a uniquely negative impact on the status of our country which just established relationship with the EU. “All this happens at the very same time when the countdown until the Vilnius Ukraine-EU Summit, where the civilisational choice of Ukrainian nation is to be made, is on.”

Moreover, Mr. Shved stressed that “they’re trying to sow discord within the Ukrainian society, destabilize it and thus make Political Association with the EU impossible. This attack’s facilitators will not fail to use anything including the above-mentioned horror-stories on the “Islamic threat and radicalism.”

His best advice for the Ukrainian society is — not to panic and give way to acts of provocation, as such destabilization is the main aim for the authors of these informational attacks.
