Mr. Evhen Nishchuk, Ukrainian Minister of Culture, congratulated Ukrainian Muslims upon the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadan, the Ministry press-service reports.
“I sincerely congratulate all Ukrainian Muslims upon the blessed days of the Holy month of Ramadan! Ramadan is a traditional time when Muslims back off the carnal worries and fully determine themselves to God. This is a period of spiritual purification, kindness and charity, love and mercy and all the time-honoured values that promotes people coming closer together, maintaining peace and harmony in the society.
I wish peace and consent for every Muslim family in these blessed days. Let this period be joyful for you, full of hope and optimism,” - the congratulatory letter reads.
The Minister expressed hope that unity of Ukrainian nation and tolerance in interfaith relation will firm up during this period of setting up of the Ukrainian society.
It bears reminding that the Holy Month of Ramadan started on June 27 after sunset, and Muslims started fasting on June 28.
