In a few days Ukrainian pilgrims will start their trip for performing Hajj (the pilgrimage to the House of Allah in the Holy Makkah) which is the fifth pillar of Islam. The pilgrims will spend 16 days in Makkah and Madinah, the two cities in Arabia most important for Muslims.
160 Muslims living in Ukraine planned their attempt to perform Hajj this year. After fulfilling all the necessary ceremonials in Makkah, people will attend the most important places of Muslim history in Madinah where Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, spent the rest of his life.
Pilgrimage facilitation related issues are solved by the Council of Muslim Religious administrations and Centres of Ukraine within quota set by the Ministry of Hajj, Saudi Arabia.
As reported earliet, RAMU “Umma” and AUASO “Alraid” provide assistance through the pilgramage, and also held special Awareness-Raising Seminars for each group.
Today’s Ukrainian pilgrims group is smaller than last year due to the new Hajj quotas reduced until the reconstruction of Al-Haram is completed.
Group of Ukrainian Pilgrims left from the “Boryspil” International Airport for Amman (Jordan) on October 7. The Pilgrims will return on October 23.
