The Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people sees the Islamic political organization Hizb-ut-Tahrir as a serious rival. One of leading Ukrainian expert on political Islam, the President of the Kyiv’s Centre of Middle East Studies Dr. Oleksandr Bohomolov gave an interview to the Sobytiya weekly.

According to the Centre of Middle East Studies, at the present day there are less than two hundred supporters of Hizb-ut-Tahrir party.
"There would be about thousand people with those and these who are still interested and sympathetic people. That is their whole aura, the whole human resource" – Dr. Bohomolov said adding that there is no real danger from their party.

Meanwhile, he noted that the activity of Hizb-ut-Tahrir still rouses a number of risks and it is basically aggression increasing in the society.

According to Dr. Bohomolov, the World Caliphate is an analogue of the communism, some incentive for those who can believe it. However, the goals of Hizb-ut-Tahrir supporters are quite real, they "have become real, tangible opponent of the Majlis".

"At least, the representatives of the Majlis see them as the serious threat. This means that they have already won the certain part of the population authority and the authority is power" – Dr. Bohomolov think.
