In the course of a meeting of the Majlis of Crimean Tatar people’s members with the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Leonid Zhunko, the sides talked about an issue of a land plot’s allocation for construction of the Central Mosque in Simferopil, QHA informs.
Mr. L. Zhunko expressed the President’s unambiguous position on this question.
“Our position concerning a steading for the Friday Mosque is well-known. We persisted, we persist and we shall persist subsequently in the position: given mosque must be built on this place that was chosen, allotted and approved by the decision of the Simferopil city council” – the Presidential Representative stated.
L. Zhunko called a problem concerning land allocation as “tricks of various political and economical structures”.
At the same time, he expressed his opinion given issue should be settled in a court.
In turn, the Chairman of the Majlis of Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Cemil stated a story with the Friday Mosque is an example of “crying, impertinent, fascist treatment towards the Crimean Tatars”.
“If we cannot solve this issue in the city council, so we should solve it in a court. But this issue should be settled in favour of the mosque’s building” – L. Zhunko said.
“Everybody knows about it. This is done before the state’s very eyes. The governmental structures keep silence, they are doing nothing. It must be some official position of this problem. They say courts decide everything but we know well how courts decide that. It is not secret” – M. Cemil stated.
“Thank God, we could prevent big clashes until now. It is not happed just like somebody wanted. But peace and stability on the peninsula cannot be based on concessions of only one side” – added Mustafe Cemil.
As known, the President’s Decree of April 30 contains the instruction for the ARC Council of Ministries to assist to get a decision of the Simferopil city council on land for construction of the Central Friday Mosque.
