Yesterday, on May 17, the Crimean Tatar Youth Centre (CTYC) held action ‘Set fire in his heart!’ in Kyiv that devoted to 65th Anniversary of the 1944 Deportation of the Crimean Tatar people.
As QHA is informed earlier, similar events were held in Aqmescit (Simferopil) and Saq (Saky) yesterday too.
The Crimean Tatar young people laid out a contour of the Crimean peninsula and figure ‘65’, contours of the Crimean national flag and the inscription ‘No Genocide!’ from lights in main square of the Ukraine’s capital in order to pay the public attention.
Everybody could light candles and take part in this action thus.
“The USSR authority applied many efforts to consign to oblivion of the Crimean Tatars and razed them as the nation from memory although the history of this people counts many centuries” – stated the CTYC Honorary Chairman Eskender Bari.
The action participants called the Ukrainian government to recognize the 1944 Deportation as a genocide act.
Also E. Bari touched upon the issue of land allocation for the Crimean Tatar repatriates and hunger strike of the Crimean Tatars that is organized near the Cabinet of Ministries of Ukraine.
