More than 30 European embassies, UN and EU international organisations and the complement Mejlis headed by Mr, Refat Chubarov and Ukraine’s people’s deputy Mr. Mustafa Dzhemilev took part in this meeting. Representatives of Crimean authorities were also present.

“Crimean Tatars’ further artificcial isolation from governing sphere and their segregation for their political sympathies, along with ignoring of Crimean Tatars representative bodies (Kurultai and Mejlis) leads to nowhere,” - Mr. Cubarov said in his speech.

Nr, Abduraman Egiz, head of Crimean Tatar Mejlis international department noted, “Our number is small, and we have to have some legislative guarantees. Unfortunately, we didn’t get this for 20 years. We propose to involve international organisations in solving our topical issues to guarantee our development as an ethnic group.”

Besides, the new Head of Mejlis Mr. Refat Chubarov expressed his regrets that some of the Crimean officials they invited in person didn’t come. He stressed the dialogue between Mejlis and local Crimean Officials could make things easier for Kyiv.
