A solemn meeting of this-year’s Arab graduates from Medical Universities was held on June 26 at the Shupik National Medical Academy Of Postgraduate Education. The event was facilitated by “Association of Arab Physicians Of Ukraine”.
President of Association of Arab Physicians Of Ukraine Dr. Turkee Jabarah, Rector of Shupik National Medical Academy Of Postgraduate Education Mr.Yuri Voronenko, pro-rector Mr.Anatoli Kosakovski, attache at the Embassy of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Mr.Ahmed Talgunee, Head of Palestinian Diaspora in Kyiv Mr.Khatim Odeh, Head of Ukrainian Centre for Dialogue and Communication Shaikh Imad Abu-r-Rubb and numerous representAtives of Arab diaspora were present.
The event was opened by Mr.Abdel Kareem Ktefan, Head of the International relations department at Association of Arab Physicians Of Ukraine. He noted that more than 40 now licensed doctors just graduated from their Universities came to Kyiv on that day from almost every region of Ukraine. They originated from Sudan, Jordan, Palestine, Iraq and other Arab countries.
— Facilitating our little fest in this legendary Academy, we wanted to stress that getting a physician’s diploma doesn’t at all mean that you don’t have to study any more, — you’ve just begun! And you are to take your further studies on a more specialized level. I call upon all of you to not only practice medicine while performing your everyday duties as doctors, but do scientific researches and constantly work on self-improvement. Because the physician otherwise loses their qualification, — Dr.Jabarah stressed.
According to him, the experienced physicians now admit their new colleagues to their community and are happy to be role models for them to care for their younger colleagues in the future.
He noted that more than 200 specialists from Arab countries graduate from Ukrainian medical Universities each year.
Rector of Shupik National Medical Academy Of Postgraduate Education Mr.Yuri Voronenko in his complimentary speech thanked the Association for facilitating such event:
— We thank Association of Arab Physicians Of Ukraine for this event. It’s also nice to know that more that hundred of your members are practicing physicians in our country. According to the academician, National Medical Academy Of Postgraduate Education taught a lot of Doctors from Arab countries, about 230 of them over the past 5 years.
Dr.Turkee Jabarah and Yuri Voronenko handled Certificates of the Association of Arab Physicians Of Ukraine to its new members.
Dr.Kareem Ktefan stressed that the Association will continue facilitated events in order to strengthen professional ties between Ukrainian and Arab physicians.
