Representatives of “Alraid” Halal Certification and Research Center took part in a two-day Conference for meat processing companies of Ukraine “WurstTech. Meat Processing” which was held at “Pushcha” Hotel in Kyiv.

This vent was meant for directors of meat-processing plants, meat producers, distributors, line ministries and governing bodies, consultants and market analytics. Not only production problems, but matters of selling meat and sausages both in Ukraine and abroad were in the limelight.

While there’s been some erosion of purchasing power in the country and a partial loss of market in Russia and CIS, report “Perspectives of Halal Market. Opening new markets in Arabic and other Muslim countries”  by Mr.Wael Al-Alami, Director of “Alraid” Halal Certification and Research Center, caught the interest of the audience.

“What we propose is a real way to the markers of Arab and other Muslim countries. To do that, one needs to obtain Halal Certificate in order to provide evidence that the products are made within the requirements of Shariah. Such document allows the producer to export their goods to Muslim countries,” Mr.Al-Alami said.

According to him, there’s a long-term outlook in markets of Muslim countries: the producer gets access to the markets of 57 countries (and world’s overall Muslim population is estimated up to 2 billion). Arabic countries are rich oil economies with 75% import dependence and yet steady currency rates.

Participants of the Conference showed great interest in the report, and eleven of them later approached “Alraid” Halal Certification and Research Center in order to go through the certification procedure and obtain a certificate. The Centre issued such certificates to more than four dozens of Ukrainian producers during the whole period of its work.
