"Does Islam appreciate women?" This was the topic of the opened annual spring female conference which gathered on March, 21st, about 500 women in the Islamic Cultural Centre. This time the action, traditionally organized by "Alraid", passed under the title "Muslim Woman on the Threshold of the Third Millennium".
Upon entering into the new millennium, the Muslim woman actively masters computer technologies, is engaged in political, journalistic activity, heals and trains. Nevertheless, if to interview, in what religion the woman has the least rights, undoubtedly, the majority of people will, though strangely enough, name Islam. Position of a woman and her rights is a traditional point of criticism of social arrangement of a Muslim society and Islam.
Surprisingly, but, perhaps, most of all opponents of Islam are touched by the appearance of Muslim women: the scarf on a head, at all times personifying cleanliness and purity, by the efforts of mass-media today became an oppression symbol. To the topic how a Muslim woman in hijab actually feels and why she makes this choice, was devoted the report of Arza Arifova.
Aspiration to knowledge is a duty of every Muslim, be it a man or a woman. Vera Fryndak told in her report "Education of a Muslim Woman is Education of Ummah", how much it is important for Muslim women of the third millennium to take maximum advantage of this right and to execute one of the major duties before the Almighty.
What happens, when clashes education and family life, breaking our carefully made life plans? What is more preferable in this case: marriage, studying, or career? Her thoughts concerning such a disputable question shared engineer-teacher Elmaz Chahmarova.
How does Islam suggest solving "women's issue" in a modern society? Where are the borders of national consciousness, and whether they go against Islamic belief? About these questions spoke the guest from Donetsk Tanzilya Isa in the finishing lecture "Preservation of Religion – Preservation of Identity".
Answers to the questions of listeners were a finishing stage of the conference. Then the guests could try oriental sweets or visit a fair of female Muslim clothes in the center's yard.
