About 2,000 believers are to gather at renewed Kyiv Islamic Cultural Centre Mosque on Monday, July 28, in order to perform the festive prayer together and take part in other events dedicated to the end of the fast during the month of Ramadan - Eid Al-Fitr.
According to the facilitators, Ambassadors of the Muslim States will be the special guests of the event.
According to the religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Umma”, Crimean Tatar community and many resettled people from Donbass will celebrate the Eid at the ICC MOsque as well. Right after the prayer is over, a festive programme for kids is to begin, with bouncy castles, presents, cotton candies and mini-concert.
The mosque already started a fundraiser for poor Muslims so that they also could celebrate this holiday well. Such social assistance is called Zakat-al-Fitr (sadaqat-al-fitr) and it has to be paid by every believer having facilities beyond their urgent needs both in the festive day (before the prayer begins) and during the last days of Ramadan.
Mufti of RAMU “Umma” Mr.Said Ismagilov congratulated the Ukrainian Muslims on his Facebook wall: “I congratulate you upon the great feast of Eid al-Fitr, which accomplishes the Holy Month of Ramadan. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said that fasting is like a shield, and he who fasts has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord.”
The Mufti noted that fast has been very trying this year: “Our country and all of us, its devoted sons, are being through difficult times lately. But remember that Allah Almighty test those whom He wishes best. Everyone must go through trying times according to the strength of his faith, and the prophets and messengers of Allah were through the hardest situations ever.”
