Deportation memorial will be unveiled in Pervomayske

The monument devoted to commemoration of victims of the Crimean Tatar people’s Deportation in 1944 will be unveiled on May 15 on the eve of the Commemoration Day for Deportation victims in Pervomayske town.

QHA is informed about this by head of the Pervomayske regional Majlis Mr. Enver Emirhasan.

According to him, at the present a pedestal of monument is placed; construction of monument should be ended by May 15. Funds for memorial’s construction were collected by just people. In all, now 21.717 hryvnyas were collected for monuments.

It will be recalled that there was announced a competition to the best project of the Deportation monument that should be erected in downtown Pervomayske. Sculptor Hayder Ali was recognized by authoritative jury as a winner of this competition.
