A huge dome over 5 tonnes was fixed over the future town’s central Mosque. Two little domes and a crescent were settled on the roof as well. They had to invite specialists from Cherkassy in order to make the dome, the QHA reports.

According to the main sponsor and one of the initiators of the project, Mr.Resul Villyaev, the construction works didn’t stop for a minute even despite the events of the last several months.

They started erecting Central Mosque of Belogorsk in October 2013. The planned capacity of the two-storeyed building is up to 350 praying people at a time. Besides, the complex includes a conference-hall, a madrasah, Imam’s cabinets, rooms for ablution. A 32-meter high minaret is to be erected as well. All the works are to be finished by next spring.

“I think our mosque will be one of the most beautiful in Crimea,” Mr. Velyaev says.

The dome-fixing event gathered Belogorsk Muslims. Mr. Emirali Ablaev, mufti of Religious administration of Muslims of Crimea, arrived to greet them. “It’s a difficult time for the Crimean Tatars, still we have big hopes for the better. Our biggest dream is that these mosques will be erected, and the future generation will appreciate them,” - he said.

Several mosques were completed last year in Crimea, namely in Saqi and Chernomorskiy districts. Previous mosque in Belogorskiy district had been completed in Zelenogorskoye village December 2012.
