The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkey in Ukraine Ahmet Bulent Merich is convinced Crimea is very important region in the relationships between Turkey and Ukraine, and the Crimean Tatars do their certain binding role between two states. He said about it during his visit to the Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University (CEPU) within the framework of the official visit in Crimea, 17 February.

“Crimea and the Crimean Tatars is the bridge, which binds Turkey and Ukraine. Turkey always is ready to help the Crimean Tatar people” - Turkish ambassador in Ukraine stressed.

CEPU Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fevzi Yaqubov thanked honour guest and noted that his visit is a great honour for the university. Moreover, chancellor told the Crimean Tatar and Turkish department is actively operated and the students who study the Turkish language participate in the academic contests and conferences on the Turkish language annually.

As QHA reported, new Turkish envoy has met with the Chairman of Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Crimea Neonila Hrachova and visited CEPU. Moreover, he has met with the leadership of the autonomy in person of the Head of the Council of Ministers of Crimea Victor Plakyda.

As well as the ambassador’s visit in the Foreign Ministry representation of Ukraine in Crimea is planned, as well as meeting with the coordinator of the Turkish Department for Religious Affairs’ representation office in Crimea Emin Patan.

February 18-19, Ahmet Bulent Merichh will meet with the Chief of City State Administration of Aqyar Serhii Kunitsyn in Aqyar (Sevastopil). Also sightseeing tour of the Khan's Palace and Zıncırlı madrasah is planned for the Turkish guests’ stay in Crimea.
