The Clannishness of the Crimean Tatars in Kyiv has called to the Religious Administration of the Muslims of Crimea with request to assist to protect the Muslіm women right to be photographed for passport in hijab.
Crimean news agency QHA is informed about it by the Clannishness.
“We apply to authoritative institution of the Muslims of Ukraine with request to settle this issue in accordance of needs of the Crimean inhabitants and the Muslims of Ukraine”, noted the community’s members. They also added they would take care of further course of settling of this important issue.
It should be reminded that 25-year-old Susanna Ismailova from Bakhchisarai town is at law with the Interior Ministry of Ukraine in the Disrict Administrative court of Kyiv for her right to be photographed in a hijab – traditional scarf of Muslim women.
The Minister of Justice Nikolay Onishchuk commented on the question of journalists about photographing for the passport in hijab on said that constitutional laws of citizens are essential for understanding how the enforcement authorities should work. If departmental documents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs contain restrictions of these rights, these restrictions should be reconsidered and cancelled.
