Generous Ramadan: Odessa Muslims Keep Sharing What They Have With Those In Need

The “Al-Masar” social organisation never wait for a special date to offer help for those who need it — they have regular benefits all the year round.

Those benefits also last during the month of Ramadan, namely disbursements grocery baskets. Such baskets containing sugar, rice, oil, tea, coffee, groats, salt, flour, paste and tomato sauce were delivered to over 40 poor families and more than 90 students in need.

Moreover, the “Al-Masar” team are very sensitive about the Lord’s precept to save food: all surplus portions remaining after public iftars at Odessa Islamic Cultural Centre is delivered to nursing homes and care centres to feed the needy people.
