Since the beginning of the Holy Month of Ramadan, 120 grocery baskets purchased for donations from the German Charity Fund Muslimehelfen, were distributed by “Alraid” volunteers. Each basket contained provision that should be enough for a family to endure for the whole month, so that the poor people didn’t have to worry about bread on their table during the month, and could concentrate on worshiping God and spirituality.
The grocery baskets were distributed in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Novooleksiivka, Lviv and Drohobych among the poor Muslims. Each of them contained 5 kg sugar, 5 kg onions, 5 kg rice, 5 kg buckwheat, 5 kg pasta, 5 l sunflower oil, 2 kg dates, 0.5 kg tea, 3 kg cookies, 0.5 kg dried apricot, 3 kg mandarins and 5 kg apples.
Such aid was provided to poor Ukrainian Muslim families (some of them are internally displaced persons) through the instrumentality of SCUA “Alraid”.
In addition to that, Zaporizhzhia Muslims raised funds for another 40 grocery baskets each consisting of sunflower oil, pasta, rice, sugar, buckwheat, tea and 2 kg of mutton. They delivered some of those baskets today, for those were for elderly and disabled people who couldn't collect them on their own. Some of those sets of provision are still to be delivered tomorrow.
