In Crimea there is no Islamic extremism, its existence is the myth created by certain politicians on the eve of presidential election. The Mufti of the Spiritual Management of Muslims of Ukraine "UMMAH" Said Ismagilov shared such opinion with news agency QHA.
He also added that the term "Islamic extremism" is incorrect, since extremism cannot be Islamic because Islam does not justify and does not give any permission to make acts that can be qualified as extremism.
"We do not have extremism displays, as Muslims of Ukraine by their mentality, by their culture are not inclined to extremism, they are very tolerant. For 18 years in the country, there was no any Islamic extremism, and, suddenly, it appeared from somewhere. Many Muslims connect the flash of the so-called "Islamic extremism" with forthcoming presidential elections, naming it as one of political PR technologies. Criminals simply shelter beside religion, and actually in Islam it is forbidden to attempt not only upon a Muslim, or upon adherent of different faith, but also upon a non-believer", the Mufti said.
