Sverdlovsk City Park now has a “Muslim Parkway”. The idea, later approved by the City Administration, arose autochthonously. There has been a reconstruction of this popular city sight earlier this year; Muslim construction workers loved the place and intended to donate some of their free time to developing it.
As a result, representatives of the Sverdlovsk Muslim Community approached the City Hall asking to give them a possibility of taking part in improving this greenfield area at their own cost. The officials eagerly agreed, and the work began.
This resulted in a new “Muslim Parkway” of 50 trees. Local Muslims not only bought the plantlets at their own cost, but also bound themselves with taking further care of this parkway, vegetating and cleaning it up.
