A mosque to seat approximately 300 people is to be constructed in the centre of the Crimean town of Qarasubazar (Bilohirsk), QHA reports.

The mosque design is developed by the architect from the Turkish Yalova, Erturk Altun. According to preliminary calculations, about USD 250 – 300 thousand is need for the construction.

As reported, Resul Velila, known Qarasubazar businessman, sponsor, Krym-OPT company executive, founder of the Bekir Choban zade Prize and Charitable Foundation, takes all funding for the project.

He said that the project is ready and the mosque will be located at the site of the old mosque which will be demolished.

Mr. Velila noted that the construction of the mosque in Qarasubazar is scheduled to begin next year.
As the source previously reported, in 2010 the Turkish delegation from Yalova secured an order to design a mosque in Qarasubazar. This year, the Turkish delegation composed of the Yalova officials, architect and businessmen arrived to Crimea.

During the visit, the delegation attended the opening of the Bekir Choban zade Park and children’s playground in Qarasubazar, as well as the awards ceremony of the winners of the Bekir Choban zade Prize, which took place in the town on May 27.
