The long awaited dream of Zelengorskoye village residents (Belogorsky district of the Crimean Autonomous Republic) could come true on December 8, 2012, with the ceremonial opening of a recently built mosque, which can accommodate more than 250 believers at the same time. It’s a dream cherished for almost 20 years by Muslims of this and nearby villages, which altogether constitute a quite numerous community, but they failed to built it by own effort.

Meanwhile, not waiting for miracles, they tried to raise feasible sums and do works in a gradual way, once portions of money were available. They cleaned the land plot, put the fundament, but soon after the construction had to be suspended.

The All-Ukrainian Association of Public Organizations “Alraid” supported the Muslim community in this situation and took the responsibility to sponsor construction of the next cult building. The works was fully accomplished in a year. The building has prayer halls for men and women, and the classroom for lessons on Koran.

The ceremonial opening was attended by Mr. Emirali Ablayev, Mufti of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Crimea; Mr. Bassil Mareei, “Alraid” chairman; Mr. Albert Kangiyev, major of the town of Belogorsk; local administrative officials and more than 200 members of Muslim community of the village. The guests congratulated the gathering with this significant event for this village and expressed hope that the mosque would not stand idle, but would become a real center for religious life for local Muslims.

No doubt that the main purpose of construction organizers and sponsors is to seek pleasure of the Most High in offering the required help to local Muslims, to make sure that they could easily observe the commands of their religion.
