A press-conference by Amina Okueva, wife of Adam Osmaev who was charged for attempt at Putin’s life, took place at the UNIAN Informational Agency. Relatives and defence are concerned about the Crimean peninsula being taken over by the “polite military troops” without insignia, and fear of such situation in the Russian-speaking Odessa where Adam is held in detention.

They ask for his transfer to Kyiv if his release in the nearest future is impossible for some reasons, as in case Russian troops take over Odessa, he can be subjected to extrajudicial killing, and there’ll be no need to even transfer him to Russia for this purpose.

The accused is looking forward to the next court session scheduled for April: additional investigations held upon the petition of both the defence and the public prosecutor give him hope for early release, as there’s no single direct evidence in 19 volumes of his case proving his guilt. The case was built on his false confession which he made forced by tortures and threats.

His spouse, Amina Okueva, who has been a Maidan medical service volunteer for 4 months, collected more than 300 signatures under a petition on considering him as one of the political prisoners who have to be released and rehabilitated. Copies will be sent to Acting President Mr. Alexander Turchinov and Attorney General Mr. Oleh Mahnitskiy.

The couple believes that the justice prevails and Adam, pure from actions he is incriminated with, will be released soon. He himself is very enthusiastic: the man wants to volunteer as the Ukrainian Armed Forces recruit if his situation is solved positively, as he wants to defend the country that became his second Homeland.
