The security service of Ukraine prevented attempt of creation on the territory of Ukraine of the centre of "Hizb ut-Tahrir" organization, forbidden in 29 countries.
As it states UKRINFORM, the head of the press centre of the SSU Marina Ostapenko informed about it at a briefing. According to the Press Secretary of Service, it is first attempt of foreigners to create the centre of this organization in Ukraine.
In particular, as a result of operative actions were received documentary materials that "Hizb ut-Tahrir" grouping on a deep secret basis tried to create terrorist structure with accurate hierarchical construction and accurate distribution of functions among its members.
As it was noted by M.Ostapenko, the grouping structure included 9 persons who during various time had special diversionary training in camps on the territory of states of the Middle East. For the future illegal activity the organizer of the centre managed to involve the citizens of Ukraine who converted to Islam. Activity of this division should be directed on creation of primary terrorist organizations, propagation and distribution of ideology of "Hizb ut-Tahrir", recruitment and preparation of potential terrorists.
Thus all members of the cell perfectly understood that for their activity they can incur the criminal liability, informs UNIAN.
Besides, the SSU directed to the Security Council of United Nations the information concerning the specified foreigners and their criminal plans to create in Ukraine the centre for entering offenders into the list of persons involved in terrorist actions.
At the present, to the head of the grouping according to article No 7 of the Law of Ukraine "About counterprospecting activity" was given official caution on behalf of bodies of the SS of Ukraine. Other foreign participants are forbidden entrance to Ukraine.
Inquiry of UNIAN. The full name is "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami” (Arab. - Islamic Party of Liberation). The party is international, Sunni organization.
The party is created in 1953 in Jerusalem, works in 40 countries of the world, each constitutes from 5 to 10 thousand members.
"Hizb ut-Tahrir" proclaims itself as "a political party, the ideology of which is Islam". The purpose of the party is to promote returning of Muslims to Islamic way of life ("all aspects of life should be based on norms of Shariah") and to spreading of Islamic belief in the world. However, it is declared that realization of this purpose is possible only by means of reconstruction of the uniform theocratic state – Caliphate.
The organization is declared to be "terrorist" in Russia and some countries of the Central Asia whereas the USA and the majority of the European states do not consider it, as such, adds Radio Svoboda.
"Hizb ut-Tahrir" declares that struggles for its purposes exclusively by nonviolent means.
