Ukraine and Qatar work actively to broaden their legal base for further development of bilateral relations. It was stated by the President in the course of the interview to media representatives in Doha. The Head of State stressed the importance of recent contacts at the highest level between the countries. “In the course of Qatari Prime Minister’s visit to Ukraine, we are planning to sign a number of documents aimed at broadening our legal base,” Viktor Yanukovych said.

The President informed that in the course Ukrainian-Qatari negotiations basic directions of cooperation development had been defined and in the nearest time it would be possible to start doing practical steps. Particularly, these are energy sphere, agro-industrial complex, military and technical cooperation and infrastructure projects.

According to the President, in the course of negotiations the parties exchanged suggestions that could be the subject of mutual interest. “Working groups have already been established and they start fulfilling the instructions. The dynamic is already pretty serious and it is very important,” the President added.

Viktor Yanukovych emphasized that not only governmental bodies were involved in such work, but also business representatives. According to the President, governmental structures will work at the level of respective interstate commissions and subcommittees while business – in the framework of business forums, contacts settlement and implementation of concrete projects.
