Sri Lankan journalist emphasizes need to bring to trial Israeli leaders

As QHA reffering to WAFA reported, Senior Sri Lankan journalist Latheef Farook has submitted a document to The Hague-based International Court of Justice emphasizing the need to bring to trial all Israeli leaders involved in war crimes against Palestinians and humanity.

The document submitted this week has provided vivid details of the horrible committed by Israel on Palestinian civilians during the past seven decades, focusing on Israel's latest aggression on Gaza, especially the use of banned chemical weapons, which Farook called “a war crime against humanity.”

Several Muslim organizations in Colombo have asked the Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, a longstanding advocate of Palestinians' rights and founder of the Lankan Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People to launch an appeal for peace in Palestine. This request was made becausePalestine and Sri Lanka have very strong bilateral relations, especially after the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas visited Sri Lanka last October, which contributed a lot to the bilateral relations.

On his side, the Palestinian Ambassador in Sri Lanka said that the Embassy is Doing of its best and carrying out several activities to help alleviate the suffering our the Palestinians in Gaza, to lift the siege and to open crossing points.
