Clannishness of Kocaeli held “sunnets” and weddings in Crimea

Today, June 22, the visit of the delegation of Crimean Tatar Association of Kocaeli city (Turkey) to autonomy has ended, which came with the purpose of organizing public “sunnet” (circumcision) for 250 Crimean Tatar boys and weddings for 10 couples.

The Chairman of Crimean Tatar Association of Kocaeli city Ibrahim Araci became the leader of delegation and among the arrivals also was mayor of Kocaeli city Ibrahim Karaosmanoğlu.

At the first day of delegation staying in Crimea, 17 June, was a meeting of representatives of Crimean Tatar Association with the Chairman of the Majlis of Crimean Tatar people MP Mustafa Cemil. Ibrahim Arci, Ibrahim Karaosmanoğlu, the public figures, businessmen and members of the Majlis including the First Deputy of Majlis of Crimean Tatar people, the President of the World Congress of the Crimean Tatars Refat Çubar, the First Vice-Premier of the ARC Aziz Abdullah, and head of the Majlis foreign relations division Ali Hamzin.

According to Ali Hamzin, Mustafa Cemil thanked the members of the Crimean Tatar community of Kocaeli led by Ibrahim Araci fully taking the financial cost of a Muslim rite «sunnet» for children from poor and large families, as well as the Crimean Tatar wedding ceremony «nikyah».

It should be note that «sunnet» was carried out for the 250 Crimean Tatar children, including Bahçasaray for 25 children, Kezlev (Yevpatoriya) for 50, Or-Qapu (Krasnoperekopsk) for 75, Içki (Nizhnyohirskii) for 30, Aqmescit (Simferopil) for 40 people of June 18 to 20 in Crimea.

And June 19 in Kezlev after the Friday prayer in Cuma-Cami mosque was held Imam nikyah (Muslim ritual of marriage), which was attended by 10 Crimean Tatar couples.

As Ali Hamzin pointed out public wedding with public “sunnet” is part of the program carries out by the Crimean Tatar society of Kocaeli city in Crimea.

It should be mentioned the Muslim rites have been organized and financed by the Association in Kocaeli in Crimea for three years. Thus, «sunnet» was for 166 boys from poor families at the age of 6 months to 24 years, and «public wedding» which was attended by 7 of the Crimean Tatar couples, in 2007 «sunnet» was for 125 boys and «nikyah» for 5 couples last year.
