Government “hides” Crimean Tatar picketers from American guest

binet of Ministries of Ukraine did not allow to the Crimean Tatar protest action’s participants to meet with distinguished guest from the USA. QHA is informed about this by Mr. Server Bekir, activist of the Crimean ‘protest glades’ today.

According to him, before arrival of the US Vice President Joe Biden, the picketers filed their application of holding of a meeting-demonstration for meeting with the US Vice President to acquaint him with the situation of the Crimean Tatar people in the Ukrainian state. However, the Chief of the Kyiv’s militia (supposedly General Yarema) came to the action participants on eve of the visit who threatened to detain immediately the picketers if they try to take any active steps during Joe Biden’s visit to the Cabinet of Ministries of Ukraine.

Moreover, Server Bekir stressed the Crimean Tatars were surrounded by the Berkut special militia squad at this day.

“When Joe Biden come to the Cabinet of Ministries of Ukraine, a bus and another two cars with Berkut officers blocked the picketers’ way” – he said.

The US Vice President was taken by the Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko through so-called “back door” but not though the main entrance.

“Everything was done in order that the American guest does not see the Crimean Tatar protesters and he is not able to acquaint about these present problems in Ukraine” – S. Bekir added.

It should be noted that the US Vice President Joe Biden paid his visit to the Ukraine’s capital yesterday, on July 21.
