In Simferopol lasts the conflict around 8 acres of land. Contestable land previously belonged to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which planned to give it to the city. In this area several commercial companies planned to build multi-storey buildings, but the territory in 2006 was captured by the members of "protest fields" out of the Crimean Tatars. They claim that the land was illegally given to the company. Representatives of commercial structures deny it...
Now the area is built up by 80 families of the Crimean Tatars - they build houses and already built a mosque. They called this settlement "Yani Kyrym" ("New Crimea").
Majlis states about training of "special military operation" on the demolition of buildings of the Crimean Tatars. The formal bases for its holding in the Majlis are the guidelines of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine to perform judicial decision in a number of commercial firms.
Majlis Presidium appealed to the President and the Prime Minister to demand immediate action, "which would prevent provocation". Also, the Presidium requires from the heads of the state "urgent resumption of the work of the committee who were instructed to consider the allocation of the Ukrainian citizens who live in Crimea - to the Crimean Tatars, as well as other citizens - lands for building their homes".
The Ministry of Justice states that the judicial decisions taken by courts on behalf of Ukraine and is necessary for implementation throughout the state. In case of failure of observance of law on a voluntary basis, they are subjected to forced execution. This deals with the State Executive Service, a part of the system of the Ministry of Justice. SES, if necessary, involves employees of the organs of Internal Affairs. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Crimea assures that no special operation is in question.
"This is execution of the courts' decision, which, with no doubt, must be followed. Police on the application of the State Executive Service should provide the necessary number of personnel and equipment for this. We must safeguard the protection of SES professionals, technical personnel, who execute the decision and, of course, citizens who can fall under the illegal actions", the Head of the Department of Communication with the Public of the Crimean Police, Alexander Dombrovsky said.
Existing experience of liberation of self-captures shows, that "It is quite possible that there will be resistance, different provocations, opposition", he added. That is why there are such scenarios, when law enforcement will have to apply the special means, prescribed by the law.
Participants of the protest action on the Balaklavskaya Street appeal to the President of Ukraine and the public community. They require from Viktor Yushchenko, the governments and the peoples of Europe, international human rights organizations and religious societies of all confessions to prevent the incitement of the "Civil War" in the Crimea.
"We are not asking - we demand: stop the explosive situation in the Crimea before it turns to civil war. Ukraine is not Afghanistan, not Gaza, not Chechnya. Ukraine is a European country, and armed conflict in Ukraine would mean only one thing - the war came to Europe. Understand this fact in all its bloody horror. Today you can avoid the war - tomorrow it will be too late"…
The Majlis invites PACE representatives to the Crimea to examine the situation...
Simferopol Mayor Gennady Babenko said that self-usurpation is a "terrible thing", and it is necessary to solve the problem, but it must be done "peacefully". According to the mayor, one should return to the talk about the demolition of buildings on the Balaklavskaya Street when any decision on this matter will be taken on the "high level". "You may find some other way out, everything should be done, in my opinion, peacefully", he said.
At the seized land has already been built a mosque, which in the case of demolition will be strongly protected by the Crimean Muslims. "There is a mosque, and now imagine a man who came to the mosque, prayed there, will he protect the mosque? He will. He will protect it up to the end. Consequently, will the blood be shed? It will. The blood of the Crimean Tatars, and of the law enforcement. Who is guilty? The city mayor, for he allowed it. So I do not want it", underlines Babenko.
"I will do everything to prevent the bloodshed in out city", the mayor adds.
The company-builder is not going to refuse from the land area. "Why we should give the central part of any Simferopol to build there "toilets" and some homes in the area if we can build about 130 thousand square meters and to give the city 200 apartments under the contract?" said the performing duties of the Director of "Olvi Crimea" company Alexander Garkusha (cited according to KIA).
Everyone has his own truth. Could we avoid the fight?
We shall remind that in January and November 2007 on the Balaklavskaya Street took place collisions because of the ground area between the parties of the "protest fields" and representatives of the building company.
