The historical landmark of XVI century Kebir Djami mosque has been restored to its 500th Anniversary in Simferopil.
As QHA is reported by the Assistant Mufti of Crimea Hayder Ismail, the restoration of the mosque interior has been made.
'Masters tried to restore the historical view of the interior of the Kebir Djami - ornament, Arabic paintings and mihrab with the help of archival documents' - H. Ismail said.
According to his data, over 250 thousand hryvnyas has been spent to the restoration of the interior of the mosque. 'The means were collected by donations and assistance of entrepreneurs in Crimea' - Assistant Mufti of Crimea has added.
Also Hayder Ismail called the city officials to apply more scientifically to the date of the city foundation because such historical landmark as Kebir Djami, confirms the fact that Simferopil city has not 225 years.
Reference: Kebir Djami was built in 1508 by Menli Giray Khan. In the early of the 90s Kebir Djami was restored from the ruins, as the mosque consisted of two walls only by that time, the height of which did not exceed one metre.
